Last night i went to Berwaldhallen, a concert hall in Stockholm, the home ground of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. The reason for this were a concert to pay tribute to the release of Halo 3. The orchestra and a choir performed music pieces from the game and delivered a nice Halo atmosphere. Kind of the same spirit as the concert PLAY!, performed by the second bigger orchestra in Stockholm. The rock band Backyard Babies were invited too.
The highlight of the evening as i felt afterwards was the final with the orchestra playing Mjolnir (you’ll surely recognize it if you’ve played the Halo games) featuring Jani Liimatainen on electric guitar. He accomplished the tough task to play this kind of piece, tight together with a full orchestra, and deliver it with feeling. Well done!
This evening (together with the earlier experience of Halo and Halo 2 completion) can be enough for me to buy a box of 360… we’ll see…
